Britton and Brooks Sharp
Britton Sharp is a UT alum, has been on staff with Crusade since January 1999, and is the Director/Missional Team Leader of UT Knoxville. He was the youngest person to ever join staff, so he’s not that old. His first assignment was at Marshall University in W. Virginia and then led in Kosice, Slovakia for 3 years. During that time he met his wife Brooks who was also working with CRU. Britton would classify himself as a Christian Bohemian: a really artsy, free spirit, attracted to the simple beauty of life that all comes from the source of Beauty our Savior Jesus Christ. He loves soccer, outdoor stuff, artsy fartsy things, live music, and UT!!
Brooks Sharp graduated from Clemson University in South Carolina. After school, she spent 2 years serving with Crusade as an intern in Slovakia on Britton’s team. After returning to the States, they were married on April 7, 2007. Brooks joined staff the summer of 2007 and has been at UT since then. She enjoys horseback riding, music (especially symphonies!), Clemson football, superficial hang out time, people who are real and other beautiful things.

Beth Wayland has been the Missional Team Leader at UT for 8 years. She is from the booming town of Kingsport and loves those VOLS!! Beth also loves Celine Dion, Kenny Chesney, Michael Buble’, and Jesus (not in that order). If you ask her what some of her favorite things about UT would be she would tell you how much she loves her staff team, the community of students, and football.

Lindsey Hendrix (no kin to Jimmy, but just as cool) She is from Hickory, NC and graduated from Appalachian St. located in Boone, NC. Before joining our UT staff team Lindsey spent 2 years in Sweden with CRU. She loves playing volleyball, shag dancing (it’s a NC thing), and the mountains. She is a texture eater which means she doesn’t like whip cream, popcorn, or shredded coconut. But, when it comes to Jesus she wants everybody to know that He (over anyone or anything) is truly the only One who can bring true statisfaction in life.

Ryan Matthews is a simple man. Simply put… he loves Jesus, Cal Ripkin Jr., UT Vols, and the outdoors. He is a UT graduate and served in Sweden with CRU before joining our staff team in 2008. He now works solely with Vol Athletes as he’s the Missional Team Leader for Athletes In Action (CRU’s athletic ministry).
