Want to connect to a small group Bible study? We have them in every dorm. Email utkcru.org@gmail.com for help finding out info on your dorm.  All dorm bible studies will begin next week.

Barn Party this Friday 8pm in the Ag campus gardens. Live 4 piece bluegrass band, square dance caller, snax, drinks, etc. Dress like you’re home zip code is E-I-E-I -O.

Here’s the Latest…               

1) Tonight is the last CRU weekly meeting of the semester. McCLung 7pm. We will be hearing from Beth Wayland. Please come out to support her.

2) Leadership night- This Friday (tomorrow) night at West Park Baptist church will be our leadership planning time. It is for all who filled out the Leaders App a few weeks back. It will begin at 5:00 pm and go until 9:00pm. Dinner provided. Directions: from campus take I40 West toward Nashville. Take exit 379 (Gallaher View Rd). This is the WalMart exit. Turn RIGHT off of exit ramp. Go to the end of Gallaher View. Take a left (at the Weigel’s) onto Middlebrook Pike. West Park Baptist is 0.8 of a mile on the RIGHT. Look for CRU people in the modular buildings to the right of “THE HUB” sign.

3) End of the Year Party – This Saturday May 1 from 3:30 pm until whenever. We will be cooking hotdogs, making snowcones, playing sports, etc. We’ll be at Jessica Johnston’s parents home overlooking the river. Lots to do there…. Tennis, basketball, chill, volleyball, cornhole, etc. Bring comfortable clothes. Cost is $3 to cover food, drink, and snowcones. Directions: will be handed out at CRU tonight. 4) Need a Bible ? – We have some pocket size ESV bibles that were donated. If you don’t have a bible OR if yours contains cartoon drawings of Moses. You need one. Contact Brent Jordan 865-804-5000

Here’s the latest…

1) CRU this week. 7pm McClung. We’ll be talking about 2 Peter ch.3 which includes How the World will end. If you’ve ever wondered how the world will end. Come at 7 to find out. If it doesn’t happen between now and then…

2) Summer Projects/Missions – If you are going on a summer project or doing mission work/camps etc this summer we want to know. We want to 1) help you if you have fundraising questions and 2) pray for you over the summer. Please reply to this email with your location, dates, and if you need help fundraising.

3) Summer CRU – If you are in Knoxville this summer we will be hosting summerCRU. More details to come. If you want to be involved with it OR help run it you can talk to Brittany Nance or reply to brent.crenshaw@uscm.org

4) Senior Banquet – April 22nd. This is in place of CRU next week. It will be at Remedy Coffee downtown. The junior class hosts this in honor of the seniors. Come help honor them. Cost TBA. I think we’re catering Moe’s. Afterward we may go the Sundown in the CIty. Dress is semi-formal. Guys this means not skanky, but not a tux.

5) Last CRU meeting – The Last CRU of the semester is April 29th. That night we’ll hear how to survive the summer!

6) End of the Year CRU Party- May 1st . Probably go from 1:00pm until dinner (6:00ish). Details to come later. This will be at a park in town.

7) Junior class dinner is @ the Sharps this Monday April 19th. Look for the facebook group. I heard Brooks is serving Beef Wellington.

8 ) Want to encourage Britton? Come out anytime between 8am – 3pm to see Britton and vote for his drawing in the chalk art competition in market square and bring your friends. You can also come Sunday until 3pm.

9) Looking to serve in CRU? If you still want to serve in CRU but weren’t able to fill out one of the leadership/serving apps it’s not too late. We want ALL of CRU to serve/lead. Please email me at brent.crenshaw@uscm.org to get connected.

10) If you are still reading this then you are awesome! If you are now still reading this part you are starting to become lame because I’m sure there are people to hang out with OR a class to study for. If you are reading this part still you are now faithfully lame. This is a deeper level of lameness reserved for people who don’t graduate….

1) Saturday Soularium Outreach – This Sat/tomorrow at 1pm. We will meet at Hodges Starbux to gather Soularium materials, pair up, then go out on campus sharing Jesus with people. Afterward we will informally gather for dinner around 5:15. Location TBA. From there, you are welcome to come to Ryan Collins’ house for campfire time. Address is below. Start time for that will be after dinner/7pm.

2) Social on April 5th – We’re watching the NCAA finals at Greenbrier clubhouse. Guys bring drinks, girls bring snax. Time TBA.

3) Social on April 16th – “Dinner for 8″. This is a dinner/mixer similar to what we did on Spring Break. You could call it the CRU Cliquebreaker : )  We will assign apartments, give you food/ingredients to bring, and cook together for dinner. Guys/Gals. If you can host a dinner at your place email Lindsey.hendrix@uscm.org . Also email her if you are interested in just being part of the dinner nite in general.

4) Leadership Applications – The staff want to encourage you to fill these out and/or begin the process. They are due Easter weekend. We’ll be sorting through them the Monday after Easter, April 5th. Just email them to the staff member you know best and also to britton.sharp@uscm.org lindsey.hendrix@uscm.org. To find the application search under the “RESOURCES” tab at the top of this blog site.

5) NO CRU April 1 – We are now in a series on 2 Peter. This series will carry us through the end of school. We will NOT have CRU next thursday April 1. We will resume April 8th covering 2 Peter ch. 2.

Hey CRU here’s “the Latest” for this week.

1) CRU this week in McClung (downstairs).  7pm. We’ll be starting the sequel to the I Peter series. II Peter chapter 1.

2) Reminder to all CRU women… This Wednesday night at 8pm in the Alumni Memorial Auditorium we are hosting an outreach called “Girl’s Night Out: Sex in the City”. It’s for women only. Cost is free. This would be ideal to bring any friend to.

3) CRU wide outreach this Saturday March 27th. Meet at Starbucks in the Library @ 1pm. We will pair up, grab some Soularium materials, and go out sharing our faith on campus.

4) We now have the Leadership Application ready. It is for ALL CRU students who want to lead/serve in CRU. There are many places to serve and lead. Please download the word doc and email it back within the instructions given at the end. Click below for the link.

If you weren’t there here’s what to know.

1) Anyone in CRU who desires to serve more or lead in various capacities needs to fill out the application.

2) The application is mainly to help you discover your giftedness and to let the staff know where your passions are for ministering on campus.

3) It may seem lengthy, but the portion you fill out is brief.

Does this picture describe how you feel in CRU? Do you sometimes wonder, “where is CRU going?”, “how do I fit in?”, “where do I start serving?”. If you’ve ever asked these questions you are not alone.

This Thursday at CRU we will be unveiling the newest Leadership/Service framework for our ministry.  We’re asking all the students, whether greatly or loosely involved with CRU, to come at 7pm McClung Museum to be part of where we’re going as a Movement.

Some of the topics we’ll address are:

• How every student can serve/lead in CRU
• How to discover and use the spiritual gifts God has given you
• How to reach a part of campus in which you have a heart to reach
• Where to guide younger students to get involved as an entry point with CRU
